Look ahead

Do you ever find yourself believing that things were better way back when? Have you ever reminisced and relived emotions from moments past and wished you could go back to old times?

I think it's commonly known to look at the past in a sort of wonder and awe. They don't call them "the good'ol days" for nothing.

But what if our greatest days lie ahead of us? What if that emotion that you have been lingering to feel again lies somewhere in the the distant future?

I believe that as great as our pasts have been, our greatest dreams, accomplishments and goals are waiting for us ahead.

Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

A well-known verse with lots of meaning; but simply put, God has great plans for you --- and a future. There is hope and prosperity in moving on.

If you are living in the past this season, crying over things that have {died} in your life, by all means, finish crying. Finish mourning your losses, but be sure that when you get up, you are ready to move forward. Looking back, at the good and the bad, prevents us from moving forward. Stagnate living eventually turns into a stench that is unbearable, just like leaving water in a bucket for a long period of time. Living, flowing water doesn't come under the ability to become spoiled and rotten. Is your water stagnate or is it living and flowing?

It's extremely easy to get stuck. Traumatizing events in our lives sometimes make it hard to move on. A harsh moment may make it easier to look back on a past life that was easier and what you remember as happier; but when we recognize the power of Jesus Christ and his ability to transform any situation into good, that He holds a future that will lift us up, we can begin stepping forward in faith knowing that no matter where we land, God is taking us to our next victory.

Learning to live in forward motion, with God leading the way, is a step toward a future that God has planned just for you!

Blessings!
